I have recently run across the obituary for Charles Israel Canaan, son of Jehu and Louisa (Scott) Canaan. His maternal grandfather was James A. Scott and paternal grandfather was John Canaan. He was born in 1845 and died in 1894. If you are interested in the rest of the obituary, email me.

Looking for information on Elliot CHENEY. According to census information, his wife was Ruth Lucy. Their children were Rufus (died in the Civil War), Curtis, Zorado, Electa and Clarence. It would seem that Elliot Cheney married both Zorado (George Harmon) and Electa (Monroe E. Russell) in 1874. The certificates indicate that Elliot CHENEY was a Justice.

A friend has a detailed Journal that belonged to C.E.SCOTT of Millbrook,Mecosta County. It starts in 1878. It lists all his expenses and all the town meetings he attended. He also loaned money to many people. This is a beautiful journal. It was found at an auction. Please contact me for more information.

Looking for info on Robert Eichenberg (b. about 1828 in Switzerland) his wife, Anna (b.Dec.1828 in Swit.), and their children Louisa (mar. Charles Haywood in Big Rapids 23 Dec. 1883), William (mar. Clara Morison 2 Apr 1884, her residence is Rodney), Mary, Robert, Clara, Harry, and Rose. This family is living in the 3rd ward in 1870 and Green Twp. in 1880. By the 1900 Census, Annie is listed as widowed living with Louisa & Charles Haywood on Third Street in Big Rapids. I believe this Eichenberg family is related to the Eichenberg's living in the Paris/Hawkins area.

I will be pleased to exchange any information with regarding the Aulbach family in Mecosta and Kent counties. Several of the family are working on an exhaustive project to construct the tree. We have numerous photos and documents as well as cross referenced dates. We are descendants of John George Aulbach orignally of Frankfurt Germany and Mary or Maria Cecilia Frank or Franks of the same area. They had 10 children Amiel 1874-1937, John 1857-1922, Catherine 1859-??, (she married Albert Osborne and moved to Erie County, NY and we have lost contact with this line of the family), Elizabeth 1861-1919 married John Dutmers and this line in still in the area, Jacob (Jake) 1867-1927, Joseph 1863-1914, Martine Theresa 1869-1931 married William A. Cole (this line is alive and well in Belding Michigan area), Peter Adolph 1872-??, Adolph George, 1874-1956 Died in L. A. County California Had two sons Gordon Jerome and Harvey, but have lost Harvey's family in California), John Henry (Hank) 1875-1942. We have over 100 individuals in the family tree at this point and growing. We are especially interested in Catherine's descendants, Joseph's descendamts, which would include any descendants of Denice J. Perkins 1934-1987 or 1997. Any other descendants would also be useful.

I am looking for information and the decendents of Terrence O'Laughlin, who moved to Big Rapids, MI from Mt Forest, Ontario about 1880. I found an article at your site of a Joseph O'Laughlin, who sounds like he would be the son of the man I am looking for. The article doesn't name Joseph's parents or children, but based on the time of arrival and being from Mt Forest, I have to believe he is the son of Terrence. The article was submitted by Ruth Strouse, and I have no idea when it was written. If you have any information on the O'Laughlins, either Terrence, Joseph or any other members of the family, I would really appreciate being contacted at delta@butter.toast.net Thank You
